Foosi U-100 syringes with needle

Reading a U-100 scale

U-100 describes the scale printed on the barrel: 100 units fill 1 mL, so each unit is one hundredth of a millilitre. The Foosi 1 mL syringe reads to 100 units; the 0.5 mL syringe reads to 50 units with wider spacing between marks, which makes small amounts easier to read. Both carry a fixed needle 5/16 inch (8 mm) long, 31 gauge on the 1 mL and 30 gauge on the 0.5 mL; the higher the gauge number, the finer the needle.

Every syringe is sterile and sealed on its own with a cap. The listings state that these syringes are not for professional medical use and are sold for industrial, lab and experiment use or as home tools.

Handling and disposal

Keep syringes in the box, flat and out of sunlight. Recap only with the cap held on a flat surface, and put used needles in a rigid sharps container rather than household trash.

U-100 Syringes: questions

What does U-100 mean?

The scale reads 100 units per millilitre, so 1 unit equals 0.01 mL.

Which is finer, 30G or 31G?

31G. Gauge numbers rise as the needle gets thinner.

Should I choose 0.5 mL or 1 mL?

If every amount you measure stays under 50 units, the 0.5 mL barrel is easier to read. Otherwise choose 1 mL.
