A Foosi capsule filling kit does the job of a manual capsule filling machine without the plates. Instead of a 100-hole tray, you get a dedicated tool for each capsule size: scoops and spatulas to take the powder, a tamper to pack it, and a box to keep everything together. You fill one capsule at a time, which is slower than a 100-hole machine for big batches but faster to set up, easy to clean and right for daily supplements, herbs and lab samples.
The tamper is what makes the difference. Loose powder is full of air; pressing it down in the open shell fits up to 100% more powder into the same capsule, so you swallow fewer capsules for the same serving and use fewer empty shells.
Capsule sizes run from #000, the largest, through #00, #0, #1, #2, #3, #4 and #5, the smallest. If you fill more than one size, choose the 11 piece kit or the 16 piece tray kit: both cover every size, and the tray catches spilled powder. If you only fill #00 capsules, the 6 piece #00 set is enough. The #000 set is made for the biggest shell, and the 6 piece spoon set is a low-cost start.
All the tools are 304 stainless steel with non-slip vinyl handles: they do not rust, wash easily and work with gelatin and vegetarian capsules alike.
If you fill hundreds of capsules a week, a 100-hole manual capsule machine or a semi-automatic filler will save time. For a few dozen capsules, a hand kit is quicker to set up, costs far less and takes no counter space.
A manual capsule filling machine uses a 100-hole plate: you load empty capsules, separate the cover from the body, spread powder across the holes, press, and put the caps back on. It is the right tool when production runs into thousands of filled capsules. Semi-automatic and fully automatic machines go further, with a higher maximum output per hour, but they are production line equipment with a price and footprint to match.
A Foosi capsule filler kit sits at the other end. There is no machine size to match, no hole manual plate to load and nothing to eject: you fill one capsule at a time, choosing the tool for its size. For home users, small labs and anyone making personalized blends of ingredients, it is quicker to set up and costs a fraction of the models above.
Filled capsules hold more when the powder is pressed to the bottom of the shell. The tamper in each Foosi kit can increase capacity by up to 100%, so you need fewer capsules and less packaging for the same amount. The tools go back into their storage box after each session, ready for the next build. Our capsule guide walks through each step and the capsule size chart helps you buy the right shells.
For a few dozen capsules at a time, a hand kit like the Foosi 11 or 16 piece set: it covers every size, packs more powder per capsule and cleans in a minute.
Separate the capsule, scoop powder into the long half, tamp it down with the tool for that size, top up, tamp again and close the cap.
The tamper should match the size. The full Foosi kits include a tool for every size from #000 to #5.
Yes, the tools work with both; size is what matters.
No. Rinse the stainless tools in warm water, dry them fully and put them back in the box.
